On Friday, Japan beat the USA by 2-0 in a Friendlies match and silenced the USA with a spectacular win. Daichi Kamada and Kaoru Mitoma hit the two winning goals for Japan.
The American team failed to get a single shot on goal from Japanese players and played a dismal game in the first half after four changes at halftime. In ten games, Americans have one win, five losses, and four draws, and they have just one goal in their last five away games.
Christian Pulisic, a US football star, did not dress due to an unspecified injury. The Americans are already at 14th rank in football, and they were without Yunus Musah, Chris Richards, Antonee Robinson, Zack Steffen, and Tim Weah in the previous match.
Miles Robinson will not join the World Cup with the USA team because of a torn Achilles.
The US was plagued in the first half due to defensive mistakes, which put pressure on the goalkeeper. In the second half, Turner made a pair of diving saves on Junya Ito in the 55th and Kamada in the 65th.
Kamada scored a goal in the first half when McKennie received a pass from Tyler Adams and under-hit a backpass. It was Kamada’s sixth international scored goal.
Mitoma scored a goal in the second half in 88th, and it was Mitoma’s fifth international goal.
The US has one last Friendlies league match against 53rd ranked Saudia Arabia on Tuesday at Murcia, Spain. The USSF said about Pulisic that it was too soon to determine whether he would be available or not.
Japan will play against 11th ranked Germany on 23 November, Costa Rica on 27 November, and a close group play against No 6 Spain on 1 December.
According to Opta Sports, Japan won possession in the US defensive third eight times in the first half, which is most in half against the Americans since 2010.
